Regina's Birthday Bash!

Reggie turned 50 and Rob managed to keep a secret. Regina looked stunning as always, and this time she was also stunned. Rob secretly planned a party and managed to keep it from her, that was a surprise in itself. Regina was surprised and happy to find friends from far away who came to be part of her day. Great food, great band and great friends, what better way to celebrate. Here’s to many more birthdays and maybe another party somewhere along the line. Enjoy the pictures!

Big Island 8/27/2011

The one thing that we never miss when we go to Hawaii is a trip to the volcano. We spent a night at a B&B in Pahio (awesome breakfast) close to the volcano, we saw an area of the volcano we had never experienced. It is on the other side of Volcano National Par, you cannot reach this area by Chain of Craters Road any longer due to lava overflowing the road. It is so eerie to homes that are still occupied out in the middle of an active volcano field. The one disappointment this trip was there was no active lava flowing, it was our first visit with no flowing lava. We walked thru Thurston volcano tube and made many stops see the scenery as we made our way back to Kona. We ended our excursion with sunset at Southpoint, one of my favorite places. The wave action was incredible due to a storm off the coast.  Here are the pictures.

Happy Birthday Linda!

Daniel and Brooke Fricke gave his Mom Linda the best Suprise Birthday Party ever!  People came from South Florida to South Carolina to share in the celebration.  A great time was had by all!  Enjoy the pictures!

Big Island 8/26/2011

We did a two day trip around the Big Island, we headed up the coast from Kona and stopped at a few beautiful beaches on the way to Wiapio Valley.  Back on the road and after a few waterfall stops we found our way to Hilo, the scenery is breath taking on this island.  We spent the night at The Coconut Hut  B&B close to the volcano and had a wonderful dinner at Keleio’s.  Here are the pictures!

Big Island 8/25/2011

 This was one of the best days of the trip. We spent the morning exploring the Kona area.  Then we went on a night snorkel/dive with the Manta Rays.  These beautiful creatures were amazing, so graceful and playful and very large.  Some of them were over 14 ft across, and they were quite friendly as well, they came within just a few feet of us.  The lights drew in the plankton and the Manta’s came for dinner and gave us a show.  As you can see Rex and Ivona love playing dress up in the dive gear.  Enjoy the pictures!

Big Island 8/24/2011

Rex, Ivona and Rose spent the day exploring the island, visiting several of our favorite places.  We were surprised at how much change there was in 4 years.  Mike and Marjie went on a shore dive off the Kona coast.  We ended the day with a wonderful luau, the show was great and the food was delicious (ono).
